Paris, 16. April 2013 – the first kangoo generation was built for ten years. If this duration is also taken as a basis for the second edition, it has reached just half of its model cycle. Time for a facelift of the series, which brings a redesigned front, more economical engines and a slightly changed cockpit.
The kangoo and grand kangoo will receive the new brand face this summer, characterized by the coarse renault diamond and the grille in black piano lacquer and chrome. The wing mirrors and rear lights have also been redesigned. Inside there is, among other things, a slightly changed dashboard. In the center, the area around the climate and audio controls has been visually combined. In the expensive versions, this area gleams in a black piano lacquer finish.
Extreme and business
In some markets there are two new equipment versions. The kangoo extreme is the new top model with black and gray bumpers, 15-inch aluminum wheels, tinted rear windows and roof rails. A colorful decor on the side is intended to loosen up the transporter look a bit – whether this has succeeded in the manufacturer’s sense, the inclined viewer may decide for himself. As the name suggests, the kangoo business is intended primarily for business customers. There is no exact equipment specification for this model yet. It is also not yet clear whether these two versions will be available in germany.
The kangoo is now also available with "energy" engines, for which renault promises particularly low fuel consumption. These include the diesel energy dci 75, dci 90, dci 110 and turbo gasoline energy tce 115. The versions with the new engines receive a gearshift recommendation as well as an eco mode, which is intended to reduce consumption by up to ten percent. In france, the lifted kangoo can already be ordered. The basic version 1.6 16v 105 costs 18.200 euros. In germany, prices were allowed to be significantly lower. In this country, the most favorable kangoo currently costs at least 15.190 euro.
